This 1908 Seattle arts and crafts house has been a tour favorite for many years! Why do they let us keep coming back?  Because we always have something new!  This year you can check out the latest Heat Pump Water Heater from Rheem, that is intelligent and connected, ready for Demand Response incentives.

This project started in 2004 to conserve and produce energy with the ultimate goal of net zero energy use and restoration of the period architecture. We reached that goal in 2016 certified by the Living Futures Institute, the first remodeled home in Seattle to do so.  Designed to be heated by a water heater, the house became a net zero building with the installation of a Geospring heat pump water heater in 2013.   In October 2021 that was replaced with a Rheem Proterra and it is a significant upgrade with its own smartphone app and an intelligent algorithm which works well for space heating.

Other features you’ll want to check out:

    • Remodeled for passive solar heating
    • Whole house data collection
    • 90% reclaimed materials used
    • Solar Water Heating
    • Photovoltaic systems
    • Battery backup power

    • 15 kW available EV charging
    • Heat recovery ventilation (by the heat pump water heater)
